In my experience as a trader who often relies on automation, I pay close attention to a broker’s platform compatibility and regulatory standing before even considering the use of Expert Advisors (EAs). With TD, there are several important concerns I can't ignore. Based on the available information, TD offers online investing and trading mainly through its proprietary TD App, which is accessible on both Apple and Android devices. However, there is no mention of support for widely recognized platforms like MetaTrader 4 or 5, which are essential for deploying EAs effectively. Since EA functionality is typically tied to such platforms, this immediately raises a red flag for my particular trading requirements. What is even more concerning for me is the fact that TD currently operates without any valid financial regulation. In forex and CFD trading, regulation is a baseline safeguard—I see it as a crucial filter for my capital’s safety and for platform reliability. The lack of regulatory oversight heightens the risk, especially when considering automated strategies that may require prompt dispute resolution or withdrawal reliability. Furthermore, unclear details regarding fees and a generally low trust index mean that I would be extremely hesitant to test EAs or automation with TD, regardless of technical capability. All things considered, I have found no clear evidence that TD supports automated trading via EAs. More importantly, given the absence of oversight and limited platform transparency, I would not personally pursue automation or trust my funds to such a setup. For me, platform support and regulation are non-negotiable prerequisites for automated trading.
