Based on my direct experience navigating INVAST’s trading environment, I found that their spreads are determined by the Tokyo Financial Exchange, which generally implies a level of transparency but also means these spreads aren't entirely fixed. In practice, INVAST has a reputation among users for offering narrow spreads under normal market conditions, which certainly benefits costs per trade in stable markets. However, like most brokers linked to an exchange-driven spread model, spreads can and do widen during high volatility or major news events. This variability is not unique to INVAST, but it’s something I must factor into my risk management—especially since fixed spreads are not explicitly mentioned as an option. During calmer periods, I’ve gotten favorable pricing, but I have observed, and would caution others, that there’s potential for spreads to expand when markets react sharply, such as during economic data releases. This is consistent with exchange-based or variable spreads. It reinforces the importance of not assuming cost certainty during turbulent times. For my strategies, I’ve learned to prepare for these fluctuations by adjusting position sizes and using limit orders when possible. While I appreciate INVAST's regulated status and relative transparency, traders who rely on fixed spreads for predictable execution costs might find this set-up less suitable during news-driven sessions.
