Drawing from my experience both as a trader and a researcher of brokers, I find it essential to verify the exact product lineup of any platform before committing funds. When investigating tobu-sec, I noted that their offering is tightly focused on securities typical of a traditional Japanese broker. They provide access to domestic and international stocks, various bond types, investment trusts, and derivatives such as index futures and options. However, I could not find any reference to commodities, including Gold (XAU/USD) or Crude Oil, listed among tradable products. This exclusion stands out to me; in my own trading, access to commodities is a key consideration. Often, reliable brokers highlight these instruments, given their popularity. The regulatory status of tobu-sec with the Japanese Financial Services Agency (FSA) assures me that the firm is held to a stringent standard, which is positive in terms of client safety. Yet, regulation alone does not compensate for the absence of core commodity instruments for traders who require them. I also recommend caution regarding the lack of clarity around deposit and withdrawal methods, which is another element I always scrutinize before opening an account. Simply put, based on my review, it is not possible to trade Gold (XAU/USD) or Crude Oil with tobu-sec as of now. If trading these assets is central to your strategy, I would suggest considering alternative brokers with a broader, clearly specified product range. As always, careful evaluation and due diligence remain my guiding principles.
