Investing.com - Die Aufnahme der Coverage durch H.C. Wainwright mit einem Buy-Rating hat die Aktien von Ocuphire Pharma(NASDAQ:OCUP) am Mittwoch in die Höhe katapultiert.
Analyst Matthew Caufield setzte für die Aktie ein Kursziel von 26 Dollar und begründete seine Entscheidung mit vier Faktoren.
Die Unternehmensanteile bewegen sich derzeit 38 % über dem Schlusskurs vom Dienstag bei 4,81 Dollar. In der Spitze waren sie bis auf 5,50 Dollar gestiegen.
Der erste der vier Gründe für die optimistische Einschätzung des Analysten sind die positiven Topline-Ergebnisse von Ocuphires durchgeführten Phase-3-Studie für Nyxol. Der Analyst sagte, dass dies ein günstiger Zeitpunkt für einen Einstieg in das Unternehmen vor der weiteren Programmvalidierung sei, die er in naher Zukunft erwartet.
Außerdem sei die Differenzierung durch den Einsatz von Nyxol ein weiterer positiver Faktor für die Aktie. Ocuphires Medikament APX3330 zur Behandlung von diabetischer Retinopathie werde unterschätzt, fügte er hinzu.
Mit dem Abschluss der umgekehrten Fusion von Ocuphire mit der alten Onkologieplattform Rexahn Pharmaceuticals und der Notierung an der NASDAQ im November 2020 sind wir der Meinung, dass sich die Anleger noch nicht vollständig mit der Nyxol-Story von Ocuphire und den bevorstehenden Katalysatoren beschäftigt haben, sagte Caufield.
Am Dienstag teilte Ocuphire den Anlegern mit, dass es die ersten Patienten in die zweite Phase-3-Studie für Nyxol aufgenommen hat.
