ContentsHow to Read this eToro Review
People who search eToro review or review eToro may see a famous app, global licences, social trading tools, and the RBI Alert List. All are real topics. They do not answer the same question.
This review puts Indian rules first. It then checks the legal companies named by eToro and CySEC. The WikiFX profile is used only as dated third-party context.
- Start with the rules for an Indian resident.
- Identify the company that would sign the agreement.
- Check the product, payment route, and complaint process.
- Treat app design and social proof as marketing, not authorisation.
eToro broker: What the RBI Alert List Says
For eToro broker and broker eToro searches, the direct local evidence is the RBI list. It names eToro and https://www.etoro.com at row 5. The list was updated on 19 November 2025.
RBI says listed entities are neither authorised persons for forex under FEMA nor authorised forex ETPs. The list is not exhaustive. It should not be turned into a claim about every service or company in the eToro group.

RBI Rules Come Before Overseas Marketing
RBI's forex FAQ says residents may transact only with authorised persons and for permitted purposes. Electronic forex trades must use an RBI-authorised ETP or a recognised exchange under the stated rules.
RBI also says LRS cannot be used for overseas margin or margin calls. A card, bank transfer, or app deposit option does not prove the underlying forex transaction is permitted.

eToro Regulation: Licences Belong to Named Companies
The eToro regulation page lists several companies. eToro UK says it is authorised by the FCA under reference 583263. eToro Europe says it is authorised by CySEC under licence 109/10.
The official CySEC register also shows eToro Europe Ltd with licence 109/10. This cross-check supports that specific European record. It does not show RBI authorisation, and it does not tell an Indian user which company would hold the account.
For an eToro regulation or regulation eToro search, read the account agreement. Match the company name, address, regulator, licence number, products, complaint route, and governing law.

- Check the full website address and secure connection.

eToro Forex: First Identify the Product
An eToro Forex or Forex eToro search can lead to currencies, CFDs, copy tools, stocks, or crypto. The legal and financial risk can differ by product and company.
Ask whether the position is a CFD or the underlying asset. Check leverage, spread, overnight cost, conversion charge, withdrawal fee, slippage, and stop-out rules. Short selling or leverage can change the product type.
| Simple rule: Do not copy another trader until you understand the product and the maximum loss. Popularity is not a risk limit. |
Overseas Regulation and RBI Status Can Both be True
There is no contradiction in the evidence. A named eToro company can hold an overseas licence, while the RBI says eToro is not an authorised forex person or ETP in India.
The mistake is to use one fact to erase the other. Overseas regulation can help identify a company. RBI status controls the local forex question for an Indian resident.

Red Flags That Should Stop the Process
- A person promises fixed returns or says losses are impossible.
- The login link uses a domain that only looks like etoro.com.
- A deposit must go to a personal bank account or unknown wallet.
- A withdrawal requires a new tax or unlock payment to another account.
- Someone asks for an OTP, screen control, or wallet seed phrase.
A red flag may not prove a crime on its own. It is still a reason to stop, save the evidence, and contact an official channel.
