Abstract:Rakuten Group, Inc. made the announcement that its consolidated subsidiary, Rakuten Securities Holdings, Inc., would be collaborating strategically with another company called Mizuho Securities Co., Ltd.
Rakuten Group, Inc. announced a strategic collaboration between Rakuten Securities Holdings, Inc., a consolidated subsidiary of the firm, and Mizuho Securities Co., Ltd.
Bringing together strengths such as Rakuten Securities' ability to attract customers across generations, based on synergies with the Rakuten ecosystem and our online securities trading platform with excellent UI/UX, as well as Mizuho Securities' product appeal and comprehensive asset management consulting capabilities across banking, trust, and securities activities, the companies can jointly realize a fully-fledged hybrid comprehend
In accordance with this cooperation, Rakuten Securities Holdings, and Mizuho Securities signed a share transfer agreement on October 7, 2022, under which 19.99% of Rakuten Securities' common shares would be transferred to Mizuho Securities.
Rakuten Securities will remain a consolidated subsidiary of Rakuten Group and Rakuten Securities Holdings after the share transfer. On the same day, Rakuten Securities Holdings and Mizuho Securities inked a shareholder agreement.
At the moment, the following products are being examined for collaboration:
Introduce a Mizuho complete asset management consulting service as new asset creation and asset management service option to fulfill Rakuten Securities clients' diverse demands and life plans.
Consign the sale of shares (IPO/PO) and bonds (primary products, foreign bonds, etc.) underwritten and organized by Mizuho Securities to Rakuten Securities, with the goal of expanding product possibilities for Rakuten Securities clients.
Introduce Rakuten Securities goods and services to Mizuho clients, including Mizuho Securities and Mizuho Bank, and help with individual financial asset creation.
